Council considered the Assessment List of Taxable Properties <br />of the City of La Porte for the 1981 Tax Year. <br />A motion was made by Councilperson Simons to certify the <br />assessment roll of taxable properties of the City of La Porte <br />for the 1981 tax year as presented by the Board of Equaliza- <br />tion total valuation of 523,841,700.00. Seconded by Council- <br />person Faris. City Attorney Askins read: AN ORDINANCE LEVYING TAXES UPON <br />• TAXABLE PROPERTY LOCATED WITHIN AND SUBJECT TO TAXATION IN <br />THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS; AND MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR <br />SUPPORT, MAINTENANCE, AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT <br />OF SAID CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE HEREOF , <br />A motion was made by Councilperson Malone to adopt Ordinance <br />No. 1282 as read b the City Attorne setting the 1981 tax <br />rate at .72 per 100.00 cash value t ereof.
