Dunham recognized. retiree, James Bridge, for his service with the City. <br />C. Mayor Norman Malone, Police Chief Richard Reff and Lieutenant Ron Parker <br />recognized retiree, Tim Bird, for his service with the City. <br />6. PETITIONS, REMONSTRANCES, COMMUNICATIONS, AND CITIZENS AND <br />TAXPAYERS WISHING TO ADDRESS CITY COUNCIL <br />Mary Phillips of 500 South Virginia, La Porte, Texas, voiced her concerns regarding police <br />officers handling robberies at her home. <br />Dr. Bobbye Worsham, Pastor of Second Baptist Church of La Porte, 9025 Carlow, La Porte, <br />Texas, voiced their support of Item Number 9 regarding the right-of-way on Canada Street; <br />they feel an urgency -of having this expedited. <br />Bill Scott of 1802 Lomax School Road, La Porte, Texas, thanked Council for their efforts in <br />their investigation of City credit card usage. Mr. Scott voiced his concern of not .being <br />approached to sign the Lomax petition regarding the area remaining rural. He and his family <br />are in favor of this. <br />7. Open Public -Hearing — Mayor Norman Malone opened the Public Hearing at 6:18 p.m. <br />Review by Staff - Director of Planning Doug Kneupper presented summary and <br />recommendation and answered questions regarding Zoning Ordinance 1501-YY and #R-02- <br />002. <br />Kent Marsh of Knudson and Associates, Consultant for the Port of Houston Authority, <br />provided an overview of business industrial zoning to planned unit development. <br />Jimmy Jamison, Operations Director and Barbours Cut Terminal Manager of the Port of <br />Houston Authority, provided an overview. <br />Herb Weisend, Engineer for the Port Project, discussed design and drainage issues related to <br />the project. <br />Public Input <br />Bill Scott of 1802 Lomax School Road, La Porte, Texas, brought forward concerns and <br />objections to the project. <br />Director of Planning Doug Kneupper stated the Planning and Zoning Commission <br />recommends approving the Port of Houston Authority Project. <br />Mayor Norman Malone -closed the Public Hearing at 7:18 p.m. <br />8.
