City Council Minutes — 3/2413 — Page 2 • <br />Councilmembers Chuck Engelken and James Warren presented an award of recognition to J. B. <br />Williamson, Municipal Judge for his services with the City of La Porte. <br />6. PETITIONS, REMONSTRANCES, COMMUNICATIONS, AND CITIZENS AND <br />TAXPAYERS WISHING TO ADDRESS CITY COUNCIL <br />There were no citizens or taxpayers wishing to address City Council. <br />7. Council considered approval or other action regarding a resolution establishing a Youth <br />Commission for La Porte, Texas. <br />City Manager Debra B. Feazelle presented summary and recommendation and answered <br />Council's questions. <br />The City Attorney read: RESOLUTION 2003-05 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, ESTABLISHING A YOUTH COMMISSION FOR LA <br />PORTE, TEXAS. <br />Motion was made by Councilmember Griffiths to approve Resolution 2003-05 as presented by <br />Ms. Feazelle, with agreement to defer the number of people assigned for the Commission until a <br />later date: when they have more feedback from the schools and know which direction they are <br />going with the Commission. Second by Councilmember Warren. The motion carried. <br />Ayes: Mosteit, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Beasley, Warren, Young and Malone <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br />8. Council considered approval or other action regarding a resolution of the City of the City of La <br />Porte, Texas Adopting a Legislative Omnibus for the 78`h State Legislative Session. <br />City Manager, Debra B. Feazelle, presented summary and answered Council's questions. <br />The City Attorney read: RESOLUTION 2003-06: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS ADOPTING A LEGISLATIVE OMNIBUS FOR THE <br />78TH STATE LEGISLATIVE SESSION FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFINING THE POSITION <br />OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE. <br />Motion was made by Councilmember Griffiths to approve Resolution 2003-06 as presented by <br />Ms. Feazelle.
