• <br />AGENDA ITEM 6: <br />• <br />REVIEW OF LAND USE COMPONENT OF THE ZONE PROJECT PLAN <br />CONSIDER RECOI~•INIENDATIONS TO LA PORTS PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br />The TIRZ Guidelines adopted by City of La Porte (Ordinance99-2328) states in Section D-1, the City's <br />current Land Use Regulations and Zoning Ordinance shall apply to all development within the Zone. <br />Currently, the City's Planning and Zoning Commission is reviewing the City's Land L?se and Zoning Maps. <br />On June 20, 2002,1 appeared before the Planning and Zoning Commission on behalf of Chairman Alton <br />Porter and requested that while reviewing the City's Zoning and Land Use IV9aps, Planning and Zoning <br />Commission consider resolving potential conflicts that may exist between the goals and objectives of the <br />TIRZ and the City's Land Use/Zoning Map. <br />The Zone's Project Plan and its Revenue Projection were based largely on assumptions that property on <br />the east side of State Highway 146 would be developed primarily for residential purposes and the property <br />west of State Highway 146 would be developed primarily for light industrial and mixed commercial uses. <br />The Zone's Land Use Plan is attached. I believe the Zone Project Plan could be enhanced by making <br />recommendations to the Planning and Zoning Commission regarding potential land uses. <br />Attached for your review and information are: <br />• Map 3 -Current Land Use <br />• Portion of Zoning Map as of August 9, 2002 <br />• Portion of Land Use Map as of August 9, 2002 <br />At the meeting we will discuss recommendations the Board may wish to forward to the Planning and <br />Zoning Commission. . <br />
