.' . . . . . ORDINANCE NO. 898 AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE CHARTER AMENDMENT ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF LA PORTE ON OCTOBE~ 30, 1971. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: Section 1. There was held in the City of La Porte, on the 30th day of October, 1971, an election at which there was submitted to the resident qualified electors of the City of La Porte, for their acceptance or rejection, one certain proposed amendment to the Home Rule Charter of the City of La Porte, as set out in City of La Porte Ordinance No. 888, passed and approved on August 23, 1971. Section 2. There were cast at said election for the said proposed amendment, the following votes: No. 1 43 75 FOR AGAINST Section 3. That the election judge and officials have heretofore delivered the official election returns to the Mayor and City Commissioners of the City of La Porte, which have canvassed said returns. Section 4. The City Commission of the City of La Porte hereby finds, determines, and declares that said proposed Amendment to the Home Rule Charter of the City of La Porte, contained in Ordinance No. 888 of the City of La Porte, passed and approved August 23, 1971, has been disapproved at the election of October 30, 1971. Section 5. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval, and it is so ordered. PASSED AND APPROVED, this the 1st day of November, 1971. :;2l~~~T~~ H.
