<br />. <br /> <br />.' <br /> <br />-. <br /> <br />.' <br /> <br />. . <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 918 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING THE PORTION OF <br />"F" STREET LYING WITHIN THE AREA BOUNDED BY THE EASTERLY <br />RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF FORMER ARIZONA STREET, AND THE WESTERLY <br />RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF SAN JACINTO STREET, AND BETWEEN BLOCK <br />TWO HUNDRED FORTY-EIGHT (248) AND BLOCK TWO HUNDRED SIXTY-SEVEN <br />(267) IN THE TOWN OF LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS, AND ALSO <br />VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING THE ALLEY LYING WITHIN BLOCK, <br />TWO HUNDRED SIXTY-SEVEN (267) OF THE TOWN OF LA PORTE, HARRIS <br />COUNTY, TEXAS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of La Porte is the record owner of all <br /> <br />of the property abutting "F" Street, between the easterly right- <br /> <br />of-way line of former Arizona Street, and the westerly right-of- <br /> <br />way line of San Jacinto Street, and desires to vacate, abandon, <br /> <br />and permanently close that portion of "F" Street; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the said portion of "F" Street between former <br /> <br />Arizona Street and San Jacinto Street has never been, opened or <br /> <br />used as a public road or street; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of La Porte has <br /> <br />'determined and does hereby find, determine and declare that the <br /> <br />hereinafter described portion of "F" Street is not suitable, <br /> <br />needed, or beneficial to the public as a public road or street, <br /> <br />and that the closing of the hereinafter described portion of <br />"F" Street is for the protection of the public and for the public <br /> <br />benefit, and that such portion of "F" Street should be vacated, <br /> <br />abandoned, and permanently closed; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the said alley in said Block Two Hundred Sixty- <br /> <br />seven (267), Town of La Porte, Harris County, Texas, has never <br /> <br />been opened or used as a public thoroughfare, and each of the <br /> <br />public utilities now holding a franchise from the City of <br /> <br />La Porte, together with the Water and Sewer Department of the <br />City of La Porte, have each and all given their written consent <br />for the closing of said portion of "F" Street, and said alley <br />in Block Two Hundred Sixty-seven (267), Town of La Porte; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of La Porte has <br /> <br />determined and does hereby find, determine and declare that said <br /> <br />alley is not suitable, needed, or beneficial to the public as a <br /> <br />public alley, and should be vacated, abandoned and permanently <br /> <br />closed: <br />
