<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />v <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 933 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 999b, VERNON'S <br />REVISED CIVIL STATUTES, TEXAS, AN ACT GRANTING TO A COUNTY OR <br />A MUNICIPALITY THE POWER TO PROVIDE SERVICES OF ITS LAW <br />ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS TO ANOTHER SUCH COUNTY OR MUNICIPALITY <br />UNDER STATED CONDITIONS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE <br />HEREOF. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINBO BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Commission of the City of La Porte <br /> <br />hereby adopts the provisions of Article 999b, Vernon's Revised <br /> <br />Civil Statutes, Texas, an act granting to a county or a munici- <br /> <br />pality the power to provide services of its law enforcement <br /> <br />officers to another such county or municipality under conditions <br /> <br />stated therei.,n. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Section 2. The regularly employed law enforcement officers <br /> <br />of the City of La Porte are authorized, upon direction of the <br />Chief of Police or his duly authorized assistants, to assist <br /> <br />any other county or municipality, when in the opinion of the <br /> <br />Mayor, or other officer authorized to declare a state of civil <br /> <br />emergency in such other county or municipality, there exists <br /> <br />in such other county or municipality a need for the services <br /> <br />of additional law enforcement officers to protect the health, <br /> <br />life, and property of such other county or municipality, its <br /> <br />inhabitants, and the visitors thereto, by reason of riot, <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />unlawful assembly characterized by the use of force and violence, <br /> <br />or threat thereof by three or more persons acting together or <br /> <br />without lawful authority, or during time of natural disaster <br /> <br />or man-made calamity. <br /> <br />Section 3. It is the intention of the City Commission <br /> <br />of the City of La Porte to adopt all of the provisions of <br /> <br />Article 999b, Vernon's Revised Civil Statutes, Texas. <br /> <br />Section 4.
