"" <br /> <br />~~" <br />~ <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Ordinance No. <br /> <br />970 <br /> <br />, Page 2. <br /> <br />abandoned, and permanently closed; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the said alley in said Block One Hundred Forty-one <br /> <br />(141), Town of La Porte, Harris County, Texas, has never been <br /> <br />opened or used as a public thoroughfare; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, each of the public utilities now holding a fran- <br /> <br />chise from the City of La Porte, together with the Water and <br /> <br />Sewer Department of the City of La Porte, have each and all <br /> <br />given their written consent for the closing of said portions of <br /> <br />South Ninth (9th) Street, and for the closing of said alley in <br /> <br />Block One Hundred Forty-one (141), Town of La Porte; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of La Porte has <br /> <br />determined and does hereby find, determine and declare that <br /> <br />said portions of said South Ninth (9th) Street, and said alley <br /> <br />are not suitable, needed, or beneficial to the public as public <br /> <br />streets and public alleys, and should be vacated, abandoned, and <br /> <br />permanently closed: <br /> <br />Section 1. Under and by virtue of the power 'granted to <br /> <br />the City of La Porte under its Home Rule Charter and Chapter 13, <br /> <br />Title 28, Article 1175, of the Revised Civil Statutes of the <br /> <br />State of Texas, 1925, all of that portion of South Ninth (9th) <br /> <br />Street, lying and being situated between the South right-of-way <br /> <br />line of West "F" Street, and the North right-of-way line of <br /> <br />West "G" Street, and between Block One Hundred Forty-one (141) <br /> <br />and Block One Hundred Forty-two (142), in the Town of La Porte, <br /> <br />Harris County, Texas; and all of that portion of South Ninth (9th) <br /> <br />Street, lying and being situated between the South right-of-way <br /> <br />line of West "G" Street, and the North right-of-way line of <br /> <br />~\7est "H" Street, and between Block One Hundred Forty-seven (147) <br /> <br />and Block One Hundred Forty-eight (148), in the Town of La Porte, <br /> <br />Harris County, Texas; and the alley lying and being situated <br /> <br />within Block One Hundred Forty-one (141), Town of La Porte, <br /> <br />Harris County, Texas, according to the map or plat thereof <br /> <br />recorded in the office of the County Clerk of Harris County, <br /> <br />Texas, are hereby permanently vacated, abandoned, and closed by <br />
