<br />I <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. . <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1012 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING A BOARD OF EQUAL- <br />IZATION COMPOSED OF THREE MEMBERS; SETTING <br />THE DATE OF ITS FIRST MEETING; AND PRESCRIB- <br />ING ITS POWERS AND DUTIES; AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, <br />TEXAS THAT: <br /> <br />Section 1. The hereinafter named three residents, <br /> <br />each of whom is a qualified voter and real property owner <br /> <br />in the City of La Porte, are hereby appointed to the Board <br /> <br />of Equalization for a one-year term, or until their successors <br /> <br />shall have been appointed: <br /> <br />Fred Westergren, Jr. <br /> <br />H. L. Hughes <br /> <br />Ruth Huddleston <br /> <br />Section 2. <br /> <br />Such Board of Equalization shall choose <br /> <br />from its membership a Chairman. The City Tax Assessor- <br /> <br />Collector shall be ex-officio Secretary of the Board. A <br /> <br />majority of said Board shall constitute a quorum for the trans- <br />action of business. The Board of Equalization shall hold its <br /> <br />first meeting at a time to be set by it, on the 10th day of <br /> <br />March, 1975, or as soon thereafter as practicable. <br /> <br />Section 3. The Board of Equalization shall have <br /> <br />all of the powers and duties prescribed by Article VIII, <br />~ Section 76 through 79, both inclusive, of the City Charter of <br />the City of La Porte. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Section 4. <br /> <br />This Ordinance shall be in full force and <br /> <br />effect from and after its passage and approval. <br /> <br />PASSED AND APPROVED this the 19th day of February, 1975. <br /> <br />~tt~ <br /> <br />E.
