<br />. . <br /> <br />ORDINANeE NO. 1039 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANeE APPOINTING A BOARD OF EQUALIZATION eOMPOSED OF <br />THREE MEMBERS; SETTING THE DATE OF ITS FIRST MEETING; AND <br />PREseRIBING ITS POWERS AND DUTIES; AND DEeLARING AN EFFEeTIVE <br />DATE. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE eITY eOMMISSION OF THE eITY OF LA <br />PORTE, TEXAS THAT: <br /> <br />Section 1. The hereinafter named three residents, <br /> <br />each of whom is a qualified voter and real property owner <br />in the eity of La Porte, are hereby appointed to the Board <br /> <br />of Equalization for a one-year term, or until their successors <br /> <br />shall have been appointed: <br /> <br />Fred Westergren, Jr. <br /> <br />C. D. Boyle;, <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />Ruth Huddleston <br /> <br />Section 2. Such Board of Equalization shall choose <br /> <br />from its membership a ehairman. The eity Tax Assessor- <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Collector shall be ex-officio Secretary of the Board. A <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />majority of said Board shall constitute a quorum for the trans- <br /> <br />action of business. The Board of Equalization shall hold its <br />first meeting at a time to be set by it, on the 10th day of <br /> <br />March, 1976, or as soon thereafter as practicable. <br /> <br />Section 3. The Board of Equalization shall have <br /> <br />all of the powers and duties prescribed by Article VIII, <br /> <br />Section 76 through 79,. both inclusive, of the eity eharter of <br />4It the eity of La Porte. <br />Section 4.
