ORDINANeE NO. 1048 AN ORDINANeE AMENDING CHAPTER 26, ARTIeLE II, "WATER, SEWERS AND SEWAGE DISPOSAL, II, or THE eODE OF ORDINANeES OF THE eITY OF LA PORTE ~ AND PROVIDING AN EFFEeTlVE DATE HEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE eITY eOMMISSION OF THE eITY OF LA PORTE: Section 1. Sec. 26-11, Sub-paragraph (a), of Article II, ehapter 26, of the eode of Ordinances of the eity of La Porte is hereby amended, to hereafter read as follows, to-wit: "(a) Each singie-family dwelling unit individually metered for the consumption of water shall be charged for water service furnished by the city, the following rates: For the first 2,000 gallons" or part thereof . $1.10 per 1,000 gallons For the next 3,000 gallons. 1.00 per 1,000 gallons For the next 5,000 " , gallons ': 0.80 per 1,000 gallons For allover the first 10,000 gallons ,0.60 per 1,000 gallons The minimum monthly charge shall be two dollars and twenty centS:($2.20), for which 2,000 gallons of water may be used." Section 2. Sec~ 26-13, Sub-paragraph (c), of Article II, ~.: . ~.'. Chapter 26f of theeode ~f Ordinances ,~ft th~ eity of La Porte is hereby amended, to'hereafter read ~s, follows, to-wit: II (c) In cases ,~here the water meter has been turned off for nonpayment of charges for water, sanitary sewer, and garbage services, and the consumer has complied with the requirements of the city and is entitled to have the water turned on again, if the request for turning on the water service is made by the consumer between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. of any weekday from Monday through Friday (except holidays authorized by the City eommission for city employees), the charge for turning on the meter will be seven dollars and fifty cents ($7.50). If the request for turning on the meter is made by the consumer and the request is complied with by the eity at any time other than the stated above, the charge for turning on the meter will be ten dollars ($10.00)."
