<br />-.~-:- <br /> <br />.' <br /> <br />.:^~ <br /> <br />..~., <br /> <br />. , <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1059 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANeE ADOPTING AND DESIGNATING THE 1974 EDITION, SOUTHERN <br />STANDARD SWIMMING POOL eODE, AS THE SWIMMING POOL eODE OF THE <br />eITY OF LA PORTE; PROVIDING ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE <br />eONSTRUCTION OF SWIMMING POOLS IN THE eITY OF LA PORTE; CON- <br />TAINING A SAVINGS eLAUSE AND A REPEALING CLAUSE; PROVIDING THAT <br />ANY PERSON VIOLATING THE TERMS OF THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE DEEMED <br />GUILTY OF A MISDEMEk~OR AND UPON CONVICTION SHALL BE FINED IN <br />ANY SUM NOT MORE THAN TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200.00) AND EAeH <br />DAY OF VIOLATION SHALL BE DEEMED A SEPARATE OFFENSE; AND PRO- <br />VIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY eOMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: <br /> <br />Section 1. The Southern Standard Swimming Pool eode, 1974 <br /> <br />Edition, as adopted by the Southern Building eode Congress, a <br /> <br />copy of which is on file in the office of the eity Clerk of the <br /> <br />eity of La Porte, Texas, is hereby adopted and designated as the <br /> <br />Swimming Pool Code of the eity of La Porte, incorporated by <br /> <br />reference in this Ordinance, and made a part hereof, as fully <br /> <br />as if copied at length herein. <br /> <br />Section 2. In addition, all swimming pools constructed <br /> <br />in the City.of La Porte shall meet the following requirements: <br /> <br />(1) The drain pipe, ring and seat shall be of <br />non-corrosive material. <br /> <br />(2) A sump shall be constructed under the pool, <br />if the pool is of a depth of nine feet (9') <br />or more, to allow for draining and refilling. <br /> <br />(3) A light shall be installed at the deep end <br />of the pool if the pool is more than seven <br />feet (7 I) deep. <br /> <br />(4) Swimming pool shall be drained in City storm <br />drains only, and shall not be drained in <br />sanitary sewer drains. <br /> <br />(5) All swimming pools shall be equipped with a <br />back-wash system. <br /> <br />Section 3. The invalidity of any section or provision of <br /> <br />this Ordinance or of the Codes hereby adopted shall not invali- <br /> <br />date other sections or provisions thereof. <br /> <br />Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in <br /> <br />conflict herewith are hereby repealed. <br /> <br />Section 5. Any person, firm, partnership, or corporation, <br /> <br />violating any provision of this Ordinance, or any section or <br /> <br />provision of the several codes adopted hereby, shall be deemed <br />
