Harris County , Texas <br /> <br />\ <br />" <br />i\ <br />(\ <br />l~ <br /> <br />"i <br /> <br />FINDING THAT SAIfJ ONNER HAS FAILED TO COMPLY WITH THE ORDER <br />TO ENTIRELY REMOVE OR TEAR DOWN THE DANGEROUS BUILDING LOCATED <br />ON SAID PROPERTY; FINDING THAT THE BUILDING HAS BEEN REMOVED OR <br />DEMOLISHED BY ~rHE CITY OF LA PORTE; ASSESSING A LIEN J AGAINST <br />SAID PROPERTY; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; <br />AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. ' <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council .of the City of La Porte, passed <br /> <br />and approved Sections 8-115 through 8-126 of the Code of Ordi- <br /> <br />nances, Ci ty of La Porte, prov id ing for the removal of dan- <br /> <br />gerous buildings by the city; <br />WHEREAS, City Council has by Ordinance No. 1209 <br />declared the building formerly located on the property de- <br />scribed in Section 5 hereof to' be in fact a dangeroos building <br /> <br />and provided in Section 8 of said ordinance that should the <br /> <br />said owner not comply with the orders contained in said Ordi- <br /> <br />nance relating to the removal or demolition of such building <br /> <br />wi thin ten (10) days after service thereof, then the Board of <br />Inspection of the City of La Porte would enter upon the said <br /> <br />premises with such assistance as it deemed necessary, and cause <br /> <br />the said building to be removed or demolished without delay, <br />and the expenses of such procedure would be charged against <br /> <br />the said record owner of said property, and would thereupon <br /> <br />become a valid and enforceable personal obligation of said <br /> <br />owner of such premises, and the said',Board of Inspection would <br /> <br />carefully compute the cost of such removal or demolition, which <br /> <br />, <br />cost would be hereafter assessed against the land occupied <br /> <br />by such building, and made a lien thereof. <br />WHEREAS, ,the City Secretary has heretofore forwarded a <br /> <br />certified copy of said Ordinance No~ 1209 <br /> <br />, to said owner, <br /> <br />by registered mail, return receipt requested; NOW THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: <br />
