The City Council of the City of La Porte hereby <br />calls a public hearing at which all interested persons shall have <br />an opportunity to be heard upon such proposal to annex the terri- <br />tory described above, which hearing shall be held in the City <br />Council Chambers, City Hall, City of La Porte, La Porte, Texas, <br />at seven o'clock P.M. on the 22nd day of October, 1980. <br />Section 3. The annexation proceeding of which notice of <br />intention to annex is given by this Ordinance shall be instituted <br />not less than ten (10) days nor more than twenty (20) days sub- <br />sequent to such public hearing. <br />Section 4. The City Secretary of the City of La Porte is <br />hereby directed to cause notice of such public hearing to be <br />given by publication of this Ordinance in The Bayshore Sun, a <br />newspaper having general circulation in the City of La Porte and <br />in the territory proposed to be annexed, such publication to be <br />made at least once, not more than twenty (20) days nor less than <br />ten (10) days prior to the date of such public hearing. Addi- <br />tional notice by certified mail should be given to railroad <br />companies then serving the city and on the city's tax roll where <br />the right-of-way thereof is included in the territory to be <br />annexed. <br />Section 5. The City Council officially finds, determines, <br />reci tes and declares that a sufficient written notice of the <br />date, hour, place and subject of this meeting of the City Council <br />was posted at a place convenient to the public at the City Hall <br />of the City for the time required by law preceding this meeting, <br />as required by the Open Meetings Law, Article 6252-17, Texas <br />Revised Civil Statutes Annotated; and that this meeting has been <br />open to the public as required by law at all times during which <br />this ordinance and the subject matter thereof has been discussed, <br />considered and formally acted upon.
