<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />1148 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING THE PORTION OF <br />SOUTH OHIO STREET LYING WITHIN THE AREA BOUNDED BY EAST "C" <br />STREET AND EAST "D" STREET, AND BETWEEN BLOCK FORTY-THREE (43) <br />AND BLOCK FORTY-FOUR (44), IN THE BAYFRONT ADDITION, HARRIS <br />COUNTY, TEXAS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of La Porte has <br />been requested by the record owners of all of the property <br /> <br />abutting South Ohio Street bounded by East "c" Street and East <br /> <br />"0" Street, and between Block Forty-three (43) and Block Forty- <br /> <br />four (44), in the Bayfront Addition, Harris County, Texas, <br /> <br />to vacate, abandon, and permanently close that portion of South <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Ohio Street; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of La Porte has <br /> <br />determined, and does hereby find, determine and declare that <br /> <br />the hereinafter described portion of South Ohio Street is not <br /> <br />suitable, needed, or beneficial to the public as a public road <br /> <br />or street, and that the closing of the hereinafter described <br /> <br />portion of South Ohio Street is for the protection of the <br /> <br />public and for the public interest and benefit, and that the <br /> <br />hereinafter described portion of said South Ohio Street should <br /> <br />be vacated, abandoned, and permanently closed; <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF LA PORTE: <br /> <br />Section I. Under and by virtue of the power granted to <br /> <br />the City of La Porte under its Home Rule Charter and Chap. 13, <br /> <br />Title 28, Art. 1175, of the Revised Civil Statues of the State <br /> <br />of Texas, 1925, all of that portion of South Ohio Street lying <br /> <br />and being situated between East "c" Street and East "0" Street <br /> <br />and between Blocks Forty-three (43) and Forty-four (44), in the <br /> <br />Bayfront Addition, Harris County, Texas, according to the map <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />or plat thereof recorded in the office of the County Clerk of <br /> <br />Harris County, Texas, is hereby permanently vacated, abandoned, <br /> <br />and closed by the City of La Porte. <br />
