. . e ORDINANCE NO. 1148 AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING THE PORTION OF SOUTH OHIO STREET LYING WITHIN THE AREA BOUNDED BY EAST "C" STREET AND EAST "D" STREET, AND BETWEEN BLOCK FORTY-THREE (43) AND BLOCK FORTY-FOUR (44), IN THE BAYFRONT ADDITION, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of La Porte has been requested by the record owners of all of the property abutting South Ohio Street bounded by East "c" Street and East "0" Street, and between Block Forty-three (43) and Block Forty- four (44), in the Bayfront Addition, Harris County, Texas, to vacate, abandon, and permanently close that portion of South . Ohio Street; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of La Porte has determined, and does hereby find, determine and declare that the hereinafter described portion of South Ohio Street is not suitable, needed, or beneficial to the public as a public road or street, and that the closing of the hereinafter described portion of South Ohio Street is for the protection of the public and for the public interest and benefit, and that the hereinafter described portion of said South Ohio Street should be vacated, abandoned, and permanently closed; e NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: Section I. Under and by virtue of the power granted to the City of La Porte under its Home Rule Charter and Chap. 13, Title 28, Art. 1175, of the Revised Civil Statues of the State of Texas, 1925, all of that portion of South Ohio Street lying and being situated between East "c" Street and East "0" Street and between Blocks Forty-three (43) and Forty-four (44), in the Bayfront Addition, Harris County, Texas, according to the map . or plat thereof recorded in the office of the County Clerk of Harris County, Texas, is hereby permanently vacated, abandoned, and closed by the City of La Porte.
