Martin and Leonard <br />Prior to council action, Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins read the caption of Ordinance 2016-3626 AN <br />ORDINANCE ADOPTING AN UPDATE TO THE FUTURE LAND USE MAP COMPONENT OF THE <br />COMPREHENSIVE PLAN OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS UPON RECOMMENDATION OF THE <br />PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS; FINDING COMPLIANCE <br />WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />(b) Public hearing to receive comments regarding the recommendation by the Planning and <br />Zoning Commission to approve rezone of a 0.57 acre tract at corner of N. 1St Street and E <br />Street, described as Lots 1-8, Block 108, Town of La Porte Subdivision from General <br />Commercial (GC) to Medium Density Residential (R-2); consider approval or other action <br />regarding an Ordinance to approve zone change request #15-92000003, to rezone a 0.57 <br />acre tract at corner of N. 1St Street and E Street, described as Lots 1-8, B lock 108, Town of <br />La Porte Subdivision from General Commercial (GC) to Medium Density Residential (R-2) — <br />E. Ensey <br />The public hearing opened at 6:24 p.m. <br />There being no public comments the public hearing closed at 6: 25 p.m. <br />Councilmember Zemanek moved to approve an Ordinance approving zone change request <br />#15-92000003, to rezone a 0.57 acre tract at corner of N. 1 st Street and E Street, described as Lots <br />1-8, B lock 108, Town of La Porte Subdivision from General Commercial (GC) to Medium Density <br />Residential. Councilmember Kaminski seconded. MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY 7/0. <br />Councilmembers K. Martin and Leonard were absent. <br />Prior to council action, Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins read the caption of Ordinance 2016-3627: AN <br />ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 106 "ZONING" OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF <br />LA PORTE BY CHANGING THE ZONING CLASSIFICATION FROM GENERAL COMMERCIAL (GC) TO <br />MEDIUM DENSITY RESIDENTIAL (R-2) FOR AN APPROXIMATELY 0.57 ACRE TRAT OF LAND HEREIN <br />DESCRIBED; MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS OF FACT RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING <br />COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW: AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />(c) Public hearing to receive comments regarding recommendation by the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission to approve an amendment to the Future Land Use Map Component of the <br />La Porte Comprehensive Plan to change designation of a 3.9 acre tract located north of <br />Fairmont Parkway near Willmont Rd., and described as Reserve B and C, Block 1, Willmont <br />Commercial Park Amended Subdivision and Tract 33 Treat Plant Site, Abstract 482, William <br />Jones Survey from Neighborhood Commercial to Commercial; consider approval or other <br />action regarding an Ordinance amending the Future Land Use Map Component of the <br />La Porte Comprehensive Plan to change designation of a 3.9 acre tract located north of <br />Fairmont Parkway near Willmont Rd., and described as Reserve B and C, Block 1, Willmont <br />Commercial Park Amended Subdivision and Tract 33 Treat Plant Site, Abstract 482, William <br />Jones Survey from "Neighborhood Commercial" to "Commercial" — E.
