<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />1081 <br /> <br />e. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMITS DURING CONSTRUCTION <br />ON A PORTION OF SPUR 501, WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF <br />LA PORTE, TEXAS, AND PROVIDING THAT ANY PERSON VIOLATING <br />THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ORDINANCE SHALL UPON CONVICTION BE <br />FINED IN ANY SUM NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200.00); <br />AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the State Department of Highways and Public <br /> <br />Transportation has made it known to the City of La Porte <br /> <br />that operations will begin in the near future to improve <br /> <br />Spur 501 by doing Grading, Lime Stabilized Base, Asphaltic <br /> <br />Concrete Pavement, One Course Surface Treatment, and <br /> <br />Striping, and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in the interest of safety, it is desirable to <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />maintain a construction speed zone during the construction <br /> <br />period; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF LA PORTE: <br /> <br />S~ction 1. That a construction speed zone be estab- <br /> <br />lished along Spur 501, from West "P" Street to West "T" <br /> <br />Street, a distance of approximately 0.362 miles, 30 miles <br /> <br />per hour; to be effective when so signed within said zone. <br /> <br />Section 2. Necessary signs for posting the speed <br />zone will be furnished, installed, and maintained by <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />direction of the State Department of Highways and Public <br /> <br />Transportation engineer in charge of the project. <br />Section 3. Any person violati~g the provisions of this <br /> <br />Ordinance shall upon conviction be fined in any sum not to <br /> <br />exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00). <br /> <br />Section 4. This Ordinance shall be in effect only <br /> <br />during the period of construction, and completion of the <br /> <br />project shall automatically cancel the speed zone. <br /> <br />I <br />
