EMERGENCY PUBLIC INFORMATION <br /> <br />MAYOR <br /> <br />Be responsible for preparing plans for emergency public infor- <br />mation, in coordination with local news media; appointing <br />assistants from various media as needed; preparing daily status <br />reports; securing photographic documentation of disaster dam~ges <br />and activities. <br /> <br />14. <br /> <br />SHELTER (NATURAL/NUCLEAR) <br /> <br />CIVIL DEFENSE COORDINATOR <br /> <br />Be responsible for updating tlie Community Shelter Program (CSP) <br />as necessary; planning for and directing shelter occupancy,in- <br />cluding preparation of, shelter for natural'or nuclear disasters; <br />providing SOP's for operation, selection and training of' she~ter <br />staffs; coordinating with welfare officer, school superintendent, <br />building owners, churches, Red Cross and other civic agencies on <br />use of their personnel and/or facilities in shelter operation; "" <br />providing for a reporting system among shelters and between <br />shelters and the EOC, including establishment of shelter complex <br />h~adquarters if needed. In emerg~ncies, directing filling of <br />shelters, overloading if required, movement between shelters, <br />evacuation of persons from endangered shelter and final closure <br />of shelters when possible. Be responsible for the preparation of <br />SOP on Shelter Operations. <br /> <br />15. LEGAL <br /> <br />CITY ATTORNEY <br /> <br />Be respons~ble for legal aid and guidance to the city concerning <br />emergency situations. <br />
