<br />Ordinance 1533-A contin. <br />Page 21 <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />(4) Manufactured Homes <br /> <br />(a) All manufactured homes shall be anchored to resist floatation, <br />collapse, or lateral movement by providing over-the-top and frame <br />ties to ground anchors. This requirement is in addition to applicable <br />State and local anchoring requirements for resisting wind. Specific <br />requirements shall be: <br /> <br />(i) Over-the-top ties at each of the four corners of the <br />manufactured home, with two additional ties per side at <br />intermediate locations and manufactured homes less than <br />5G feet long requiring one additional tie per side; <br /> <br />(ii) Frame ties at each corner of the home with five additional <br />ties per side at intermediate points and mobile homes less <br />than 50 feet long requiring four additional ties per side; <br /> <br />(Hi) All components of the anchoring system capable of carrying <br />a force of 4,800 pounds; <br /> <br />(iv) Any additions to the manufactured home similarly anchored. <br /> <br />(v) Alternate means of anchorage such as those presented in <br />the September 1985 FEMA Manual "Manufactured Home <br />Installation in Flood Hazard Area" may be used if approved <br />by the Flood Plain Administrator. <br /> <br />(b) For manufactured homes that are placed or substantially improved <br />within Zones A1-30, AH, and AE on the community's FIRM on <br />sites: <br /> <br />(i) outside of a manufactured home park or subdivision, <br />(ii) in a new manufactured home park or subdivision, <br />(iii) in an expansion to an existing manufactured home park or <br />subdivision, or <br />(iv) in an existing manufactured home park or subdivision on <br />which a manufactured home has incurred "substantial <br />damage" as a result of a flood, <br /> <br />be elevated on a permanent foundation such that the lowest floor <br />of the manufactured home is elevated to or above the based flood <br />elevation and be secure anchored to an adequately anchored <br />foundation system to resist flotation, collapse, and lateral <br />movement. <br />
