AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A FIRE CODE FOR THE CITY OF LA PORTE; CONTAIN- ING A SAVING AND REPEALING CLAUSE1 PROVIDING THAT ANY PERSON VIOLATING THE TERMS OF THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE FINED IN ANY SUM NOT MORE THAN TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200.00) AND EACH DAY OF VIOLATION SHALL BE DEEMED A SEPARATE OFFENSE 1 AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: Section 1. Section 10-38 of the Code of Ordinances, City of . La Porte, Texas, is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 10-38. Adopted. The 1983 Edition of the Fire Code of the City of La Porte, a copy of which is on file in the office of the City Secretary of the City of La Porte, Texas, is hereby adopted as the fire code of the City of La Porte, incorporated by reference in this ordinance, and made a part hereof, as fully as if copied at length herein." A true and correct copy of the 1983 Edition of the Fire Code of the City of La Porte is attached to this Ordinance as Exhibit A hereto, incorporated by reference herein, and made a part hereof for all purposes. . Section 2. Sect ion 10-39 of the Code of Ordinances, Ci ty of La Porte, Texas, is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 10-39. Conflict with other city codes. Where there exists a conflict between any of the regulations or limitations or penalties prescribed in the firl~ code, adopted in Section 10-38 of the Code Of Ordinances, and any other building or fire prevention codes of the City of La Porte, or any other provisions of the Code of Ordinances, the more stringent 1 imi tation or requirement shall govern and prevail." Section 3. The following ordinances are expressly repealed: Ordinance No. 1144 and Ordinance No. l144-A. .
