<br />
<br />(D) GOODS shall include personal property of
<br />any kind, and shall include goods provided
<br />incidental to services offered or sold.
<br />
<br />(E) PERSON as used herein shall include the
<br />singular and the plural and shall also
<br />mean and include any person, firm or cor-
<br />poration, association, club, co-partnership
<br />or society, or any other organization.

<br />(F) PEDDLER as used herein shall include any
<br />person, whether a resident of the City of
<br />La Porte or not, traveling by foot, wagon,
<br />automotive vehicle, or any other type of
<br />conveyance, from house to house, or from
<br />street to street, carrying, conveying or
<br />transporting goods, wares, merchandise,
<br />meats, fish, vegetables, fruits, garden
<br />truck, farm products or provisions,
<br />offering and exposing the same for sale,
<br />or making sales and delivering articles to
<br />purchasers, or who, without traveling from
<br />place to place, shall sell or offer the same
<br />for sale from a wagon, automotive vehicle,
<br />railroad car, or other vehicle or conveyance,
<br />and further provided that one who solicits
<br />orders and as a separate transaction makes
<br />deliveries to purchasers as a part of a
<br />scheme or design to evade the provisions of
<br />this Ordinance shall be deemed a peddler
<br />sUbject to the provisions of this Ordinanceo
<br />The word "Peddler" shall include the words
<br />"hawker" and "huckster".

<br />
<br />(G) RESIDENTIAL PREMISES shall mean a building
<br />or portion of a building used for residential
<br />purposes including the real estate upon which
<br />any such building is located, provided that
<br />the predominant use of the real estate is for
<br />residential purposes.

<br />(H) RELIGIOUS shall not mean and include the word
<br />charitable as herein defined, but shall be
<br />given its commonly accepted definition.

<br />(I) VENDOR is defined as any person, firm or
<br />corporation, whether as owner, agent co-
<br />signee or employee, whether a resident of
<br />the City or not, who engages in a temporary
<br />business of selling and delivering goods,
<br />wares and merchandise within said City, and
<br />who, in furtherance of such purpose, hires,
<br />leases, uses or occupies any building, struc-
<br />ture, motor vehicle, tent, railroad box car,
<br />or boat, public room in hotels, lodging
<br />houses, apartments, shops, or any street,
<br />alley, or other pIce within the City, for
<br />the exhibition and sale of such goods, wares
<br />and merchandise, either privately or at public
