ORDINANCE NO. 1442
AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING ALL OF THE ALLEY
IN BLOCK FOUR HUNDRED THIRTY-SEVEN (437), IN THE TOWN OF LA PORTE,
HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, the said alley in Block Four Hundred Thirty-
Seven (437) of the Town of La Porte has never been opened or
used as a public thoroughfare, and the public utilities now
making use of such alley have all given their written consent
for its closing; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of La Porte has
detennined and does hereby find, detennine and declare that
the said alley is not suitable, needed, or beneficial to the
public as a public alley, and should be vacated, abandoned and
permanently closed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LA PORTE:
Section 1. The alley located in Block Four Hundred Thirty-
Seven (437) of the TOWN OF LA PORTE, Harris County, Texas, is
hereby permanently vacated, abandoned and closed by the City
of La Porte.
Section 2. The City Council officially finds, deter-
mines, recites and declares that a sufficient written notice
of the date, hour, place and subj ect of this meeting of the
City Council was posted at a place convenient to the public
at the City Hall of the City for the time required by law
preceding this meeting, as required by the Open Meetings Law,
Article 6252-l7, Texas Revised Civil Statutes Annotated; and
that this meeting has been open to the public as required by
law at all times during which this ordinance and the subj ect
matter thereof has been discussed, considered and fonnally
acted upon. The City Council further ratifies, approves and
confinns such written notice and the contents and posting
thereof.

Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage and approval.
