COUNTY OF HARRIS
The City Commission of the City of La Porte, Texas, met in
regular session at the regular meeting place within said
City on the 1st day of JuJy" 1961, with the following members
present, to-wit:
H. P. Pfeiffer
Mayor
Denni s Dunham
Commissioner
Odell L. Brown
Commissioner
Tom W. Osburn
Commissioner
W. A. Stabs
Commissioner
Frank G. Baker
City Clerk
when the following business was transacted:
The Mayor introduced a resolution. The resolution was read
in full and Conunissioner W.A. Stabs moved that it be adopted.
The motion was seconded by Commissioner O. L. Brown and
carried by the following vote: AYES: Mayor Pfeiffer, Commis-
sioners Dunham, Brown, Osborn and Stabs. NOES: None. The
resolution thus adopted follows:
WHEREAS, the area of Pine Bluff, Bayside Terrace, Bay Oaks
Addition and Shady Oaks Addition, which are in the vicinity of
the City of La Porte, Texas, and which area has been annexed to
said City on first reading only; and
WHEREAS, such area has no adequate conunon waterworks and
sanitary sewer system and does not have adequate drainage facili-
ties; and
WHEREAS, such area needs such facilities for proper growth
and development, and this City Conunission is generally familiar
with the proposed improvements desired in such area and wishes

to cooperate with the citizens of such area to obtain same;
Therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
LA PORTE" TEXAS:
That the Harris County delegation of the Texas Legislature,
1961, is hereby respectfully requested to support and aid in
the introduction and passage of a Bill at the current session
of the Texas Legislature whereby the Bayshore Municipal District

will be created in Harris County, Texas, so that the facilities
mentioned in the preamble. hereof can be obtained for such area
as soon as possible.

COUNTY OF HARRIS ~
I, the undersigned, City Clerk of the City.of La Porte,
Texas, do hereby certify that the attached and foregoing is a
true and correct copy of a Resolution passed and approved by
the City Commission of said City at a meeting held on the 1st
day of July, 1961, together with an excerpt from the minutes of
said meeting showing the adoption thereof, as same appears of
record in the official minutes of said City Commission on file
in my office.
