ORDINANCE NO. l482-B AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING AN ABSENTEE BALLOT BOARD FOR THE CITY OF LA PORTE ELECTION ON APRIL 5, 1986; APPOINTING ELECTION JUDGES; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY '!HE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: Section 1. An Absentee Ballot Board is hereby created to process Absentee voting results for the joint election to be held April 5, 1986, and the runoff election, if necessary, to be held on April 27, 1986. GWEN VANN is appointed presiding judge of the Absentee Ballot Board. At least two (2) other members of the Absentee Ballot Board shall be appointed by the presiding judge, in the same manner as the precinct election clerks. Section 2. MIRIAM GORE is appointed presiding judge of Election Precinct No.3. Section 3. GRACIE ESCOBEDA is appointed presiding judge of Election Precinct No.5. LORRAINE MILLER is appointed alaternate presiding judge of Election Precinct No.5. Section 4. Except as hereby amended, Ordinance No. l482-A shallranain in full force and effect. Section 5. The City Council officially finds, determines, recites and declares that a sufficient written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of this meeting of the City Council was posted at a place convenient to the public at the City Hall of the City for the time required by law preceding this meeting, as required by the Open Meetings Law, Article 6252-1, Texas Revised Civil Statutes Annotated; and that this meeting has been open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Ordinance and the subject matter thereof has been discussed, considered and formally acted upon. The City Council further ratifies, approves and confirms such written notice and the contents and posting thereof. PASSED AND APPROVED this the 17th day of March, 1986.
