GILLETTE -- RESOLUTION NO. 990 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, NOMINATING ROBERT L. GILLETTE TO SERVE AS MEMBER TO THE PORT OF HOUSTON COMMISSION. **************************************************************** WHEREAS, the Harr is County Mayors' and Counc ils" Assoc iation Screening Committee has met to select nominees to the Port of Houston Commission1 and WHEREAS, Robert L. Gillette has been an outstanding citizen of Harris County, Texas, for sixty-one years and has served his city, county, and country exceptionally as President of the Bay town Area Water Authority, Member of the Board of Managers of Harris County Hospital District and as U. S. Representative to the People Citizens' Ambassador Program in China1 and WHEREAS, Robert L.'Gillette has exhibited such outstanding leadership and community service in the Bay town and Harris County area; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That, pursuant to the procedures and requirements adopted by the Harris County Mayors' and Councils' Association Screening Committee for the appointment of a member to the Port of Houston Commission, Robert L. Gillette is nominated to serve as a member to the Port of Houston Commission for a two year term. Section 2: The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby directed to certify to this nomination and forward such certification to Pat Menger, City of Deer Park, 710 East San Augustine, Deer Park, Texas 77536. Section 3: from. a.nd after Bay town. This resolution shall take effect immediately its passage by the City Council of the City of INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the City Council of the City of Bay town, this the 23rd day of July, 1987.
