RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the City of La Porte, as a result of
the development now under way, in and adjacent to the
City of La Porte, f.eels that it must make adequate provi-
sions for water for all purpos.es; and
WHEREAS, the City of La Port.e has outstanding
water and sewer revenue bonds, which bonds restrict La
Portels abili~y to finance any major sourCe of supply;
and
WHEREAS, the Bayahore Industrial Water Company
was recognized and franchised with the full approval and
at the request of the City of La Porte; and
WHEREAS; the Bayshore Industrial Water Company
has agre.ed to meet demands for water in the City of La
Porte as a first call on any water that is made available;
and
WHEREAS, the City of La Portels franchiae with
the Bayshore Industrial Water Company gives the City the
right to take over all of the assets of the Bayshore Indus-
trial Water Company on a fair and reasonable basis; and
WHEREAS, the Bayshore Industrial Water Company
has adequate funds ava11abl~ to finance the purchase of
and delivery of water from the San Jacinto River Authority
to the City of La Porte,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Commission of the City
of La Porte respectfully urges the San Jacinto River Authority
to negotiate a contract with the Bayshore Industrial Water

Company for the inunediate delivery of water to the said
Company in an amount of not less than 100 million gallons
per day.
