HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-2002-28 ... . . e ~ RESOLUTION 100 8. ~ ~ y WHEREAS, The La Porte City Council finds it in the best interest of the citizens of La Porte to receive assistance, support and education about Victims' Assistance Programs with the acceptance of a Victims' Assistance Discretionary Grant made possible through an appropriation by the 77th Legislature to the Attorney General's Office, and WHEREAS, La Porte City Council has considered the submission of the application to the Attorney General's Office for the funding of a full- time position of a Victims' Assistance Liaison in the amount of $66,666.00 for a 20 month period, and . WHEREAS, City of La Porte will receive a maximum of $62,003.00 for salary for grant position and $8,326.00 for training and equipment from the Attorney' General's Office with no required match or funds from the City, and WHEREAS, La Porte City Council has agreed that in the event of loss' or misuse of the $66,666.00 of the Attorney General's funds, La Porte City Council assures that the funds will be returned to the Attorney General's Office in full. WHEREAS, LaPorte City Council has agreed that the Victim Assistance Discretionary Grant award will not be used to offset or decrease total salaries, expenses, and allowances the City receives at or after the time the grant is awarded. This grant is subject to and conditioned upon acceptance of the rules and regulations set forth in Title 1 Tex. Admin. Code, Chapter 60, Subchapter A-H (published for Adoption on December 14, 2001). Applicable special.~onditions, if any, are cited below. Total project costs must be accounted for in accordance with the Governor's Office of Budget and Planning, Uniform Grant ~/anagemen/ Standards (http://www.governor.state.tx.us/the_office/gtsjracs/Grantsiguidelines.htm) and the rules and regulations referenced above. GRANTEE REQUEST FOR REIMBURSEMENT: All grantee requests for reimbursement shall be submitted to the Office of the Attorney General, to the attention of the Crime Victim Services Division, V ADG Coordinator. Payments made pursuant to this grant shall be for reimbursement of costs on a monthly basis. Grantee agrees to use the OAG approved Invoice Form and Financial Status Report Form to make reimbursement requests. Reimbursement will not be made without requisite documentation or until all special conditions outlined on the Statement of Grant Award have been satisfied. FUTURE FUNDING: Approval of the above-referenced grant does not commit the Office of the Attorney General to future funding. Any such funding shall be determined by all applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures promulgated by the Office of the Attorney General and by the appropriation of funds. SPECIAL CONDmONSIREQUIREMENTS: Note: The grant recipient, by the acceptance of this grant, agrees to expend grant funds only far, and in compliance with, Article I, Section 31 of the Texas Constitution, and with the Texas Code of Crimina,l Procedure, Chapter 56.
