<br />. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2000-2460 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING A RE-DISTRICTING COMMITTEE, AND <br />ESTABLISHING ITS POWERS AND DUTIES; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE <br />OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: <br /> <br />section 1. The City Council of the City of La Porte hereby <br /> <br />appoints the following residents of the City of La Porte to a Re- <br /> <br />Districting Committee, to-wit: <br /> <br />Chairperson: Sydney Grant <br />District 1: Betty Waters <br />District 2: Betty s:r Ou Itl J~ <br />ra'tilt\ <br />District 3 : Kirby Linscomb, Jr. <br />District 4: (Unfilled) <br />District 5: Bernard Legrand <br />District 6: Bob Capen <br />Position A: Claudia Zapata <br />position B: Ed Matuszak <br />Alternate 1: Dina Martinez <br />Alternate 2: (Unfilled) <br />Alternate 3 : (Unfilled) <br /> <br />The Chairman shall appoint alternates as required to establish <br /> <br />a quorum at any meeting. <br /> <br />section 2. Following publication of the 2000 Federal Census, <br /> <br />the Re-Districting Committee shall conduct an investigation and <br />determine the population of the City, and the population of each of <br />the districts from which district Councilpersons are elected. Each <br /> <br />such determination shall be based upon the best available data, <br />
