AN ORDINANCE APPROVING REIMBURSEMENT TO HARRIS COUNTY, FOR ONE-HALF
(1/2) OF REPAVING COSTS AT THE UPPER PARKING LOT AT SYLVAN BEACH
PAVILION, PLUS PAVING OF THE ROADWAY AREA, MAlCING VARIOUS FINDINGS
AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT, FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE
OPEN MEETINGS LAW, PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE:
Section 1.
The City Council of the City of La Porte has
heretofore entered into a lease agreement with Harris County, under
the terms of which agreement the City of La Porte is obligated to
pay one-half (1/2) of the repaving costs at the upper parking lot
at Sylvan Beach Pavilion. Harris County has awarded a bid for this
repaving project, and the City of La Porte's one-half (1/2) portion
of the cost is $56,158.85 plus $11,513.00 for Change Order No.1,
for paving of the roadway area.
The City Council of the City of La Porte hereby appropriates
the sum of $67,671.85 for said project, and authorizes the payment
of said funds to Harris County, for reimbursement of the City's
portion of said project. Said funds are appropriated from City of
La Porte Budget FYOO-01.
Section 2. The City council officially finds, determines,
recites, and declares that a sufficient written notice of the date,
hour, place and subject of this meeting of the City Council was
posted at a place convenient to the public at the City Hall of the
city for the time required by law preceding this meeting, as
required by the Open Meetings Law, Chapter 551, Texas Government
Code; and that this meeting has been open to the public as required
by law at all times during which this ordinance and the subject
matter thereof has been discussed, considered and formally acted
upon. The City Council further ratifies, approves and confirms
such written notice and the contents and posting thereof.

Section 3. This Ordinance shall be effective from and after
its passage and approval, and it is so ordered.

8. Recommendation for authorization for the County Judge to execute ataeements with:

9. Recommendation that the award for installation of advance warning flashezs or
school zone flashers and related improvements tOr six months at various locationH
in Precinct 1 be made to Creacom, Inc.. lowest and best bid in the amount of
579,466. and for appropriate officials to take necessary actions relating to the
award.

Fry Road to Buffalo Bayou in Precinct 3 be rejected and the project readvertised at
a later date.
13. Recommendation that a technical defect be waived and the award for signage and
graphics for Barbara B1JBb Branch Library in Precinct 4 be made to Neon Electric
COIporatioD, lowest bid in the amount of $41,489, and for appropriate officials to
take necessary actions relating to the award.
14. Recommendation for authorization to renew a contract with Batterson, Inc., for
striping of various roads in the Spring Camp area in Precinct 4 in the amOWlt of
$175,000, and for appropriate officials to take necessary actions relating to the
contract.
15. Recommendation for authorization for the County Judge to execute an agreement
with the Texas Department of Transportation for constructiOD of West Greens Road
from SH 249 to Cutten Road in Precinct 4 in the amount of$15,000.
16. Recommendation Cor authorization for the County Judge to execute a joint
partiCipatiOD agreement with Pulte of Texas. L.P.) for construction of Ella Boulevard
as it fronts CyPreSSWood Glen Subdivision between Louetta Road and Spring-
