An Ordinance granting the Galveston Harrisburg and ~an Antonio Railway CCtmpany, its successors and assignf), the right, pri....elege ad and easememt of constructing, maintaining and oper.ating its line of Railroad within and through the corporate limits of the Town of La Porte; regulating the exercino of the rights granted heroby, and de- claring an emergency. Be it. ordained by the Town Council of the Town of lAa Porte:- Section One. That the right, pri......elege and esaemffi t of constructing, maintaining and operating a line of single track, standard guage railroad, with its appurtenances into and through the Town of :ta- Porte, in Harris County, Texas is hereby granted to the Galveston Harrisburg and San Antonio Railway Company, its successors and assigns, the center of said track to be as tOliows, to wit,- Beginning at a point where said line of Road intersect~ the West line of South E. ~treot, which is also the South line of Oonald son Avanul!, and the North line of the Tovm of La Porta; thence in a Southerly direction crossing South E. Street, and upon and along Park Avenue 59 feet from the Wcst line thereof to a point opposite the North'-east corner of Block No 11, at the corner of Brownell and Park Avenues; thence continuing in a Southerly direction along Park Avenue to the beginning Qf a curve of approximately 2 degrees to the le:l't, which point 1s 67 feet from the West line of said Park Avenue; thence continuing in a ~outherly direction with said curve ~ to a point of tan~ent near whero the East t,1#I La Porte branch of said Company connects with the said line of road herein referred to; thence continuing Southerly along Park Avenue, and 35 feet from the West line thereof, to the South boundary line of the Town of T,a Porte, at or near the North line of ~outh L. Street. Section Two. Said line of Railroad shall be so constructed and maintained as not to un-necessarily impair or interfcre with the use of the streets in and upon which the same shall be constructed, and said Railway Company, its successors and asoigns, shall con- struct and maintain the nece~sary culverts and sluices for the pur- pose of carrying surface water beneath said traclc. Section Throe. Saie Rail'VTay compan~r, its successorn and assigns, shall construct and maintain all necessary crossings over said trac:k where the same shall be crossed. by existine streets of said Town of T,s: Porte. Sec1;ion 'Four. That the Ordinance adopted on the 9th day of April A. O. 1913 be, and the sarne is heroby repealed. Section 'Five. It being deemed to the best interost of the Town of La Porte that said Railway track be constructed and placed in opera'~lon as soon as possible, that un emer~ency and imperative necessity exists, that the reading of this Ordlnance at three meet- ings of the councl1 be dispensed with, and that this Ordinance therefore shall be in full force and effect from and after its pas- sage and approval by the l8ayor. ORIHNANcE 148. f.1::f1:;'k;''=!'4!=.''-4~.'~ "~.~~ '!::!~/~~~'=!'=f.~ An Ordinance granting the Galveston Harrisburg and San Antonio Railway Company, its successorS and assigns, the right, privelege ad and easement of constructing, maintaining and operating its line of Railroad within and through the corporate liMits of the Town of La Porte; regulating the exercise of the rights granted heroby, and de- claring an emergency. Be it ordained by the Town Council of the Town of La Porte:- Section One. That the right, privelege and esacmm t of constructing, maintaining and operating a line of single track, standard guage railroad, with its appurtenances into and through the Town of ~a- Porte, in Harris County, Texas is hereby granted to the Galveston Harrisburg and San Antonio Railway Company, its successors and assigns, the center of said track to be as follows, to wit,- Beginning at a point where said line of Road intergects the West 1ino of South ~. ~treet, which is also the South line of Donald son Avenue, and the North line of the Town of La Porte; thence in a Southerly direction crOSSing South E. Street, and upon and along Park Avenue 59 foet from the West line thereof to a point opposite the North-east corner of Block No 11, at tho corner of Brownell and Park Avenues; thence continuing in a Southerly direction along Park Avenue to the beginning Q,f a curve of approximately 2 degrees to the left, which point is 67 feet from the West line of said Park Avenue; thence continuing in a Southerly direction with said curve ~ to a point of tangent near where the East ~ La Porte branch of said Company connects with the said line of road herein referred to; thence continuing Southerly along Park Avenue, and 35 feet from the West line thereof, to the South boundary line of the Town of La Porte, at or near the North line of South L. Street. Section Two. Said line of Railroad shall be so constructed and maintained as not to un-necessarily impair or interfere with the use of the streets in and upon which the same shall be constructed, and said Railway Company, its successors and assigns, shall con- struct and maintain the nece~sary culverts and sluices for the pur- pose of carrying surface water beneath said tracIe. ~ect.on Three. Sai8 Railway Company, its successors and assigns, shall construct and maintain all necessary crossings over said track where the same shall be crossed by existing streets of said Town of L~ Porte. Section ?our. That the Ordinance adopted on the 9th day ot April A. n. 1913 be, and the same is hereby repealed. Section ~ive. It being deemed to the best interest of the Town of La Porte that said Railway track be constructed and placed in operation as soon as possible, that an emergency and imperative necessity exists, that the reading of this Ordinance at three meet- ings of the Council be dispensed with, and that this Ordinance therefore shall be in rull rorce and effect rrom and after its pas- sage and approval by the l~ayor.
