An Ordinance: Granting the Galveston Harrisburg and San Antonto Railway Company, its successors and assigns, the right privelege, franchi~e and easement to construct, maintain and oper- nte a Telegraph line along, upon and across Park Avenue in the Town of La Porte, "arris County, Texas, prescribing the manner in which said Telagraph line shall be constructed and maintained, and de- claring an omergency. Be it Ordained: By the Town Council of the Town of' r,a Porte.- Section One. Said Railway Company Is granted the right and permi!')sion to attach to said poles all cross arms, wires, fixtures, appliances and appurtenances necessary to construct the said Telegraph 11ne in first-class condition. The said Telegraph line to be connected with the present telegraph line of tho said Company at or near t~e ~tation of Sylvan Beach, and tG# extend in a ~outherly direction approxi- mately T~enty (20) feet East of the cente~ line of what is knovm as the said Railway's La Porte ~eabrook 'Extension, or the ~,tain r,oop track to the South boundary line of the Tovm of La Porte. Said Rail~uy Company is granted the right and permission to attach to said poles all cross arms, wires, fixtures, appliances and appurtenances necessary to construct the said Telegraph line in first-class condition. ~ection Three. That the said Railway Company by t.i1e accep- tance of this Brant, agreos to construct and maintain tho said tel- egraph line in good condition. Section ~our. It being deemed to the best interest of tho Town of La Porte, that said telegraph line be constructed and placod in operation as soon as possible, that an emergency and imperative necessity exists, that the reading of this Ordinance at three meet- ings of the Council be dispensed with, and that this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor.
