~.. BE IT ORnAINED: By the Ci ty Council of the City of IJa Porte:-
Section One: That an election he, and the same is hereby ordered
to determine whether the Charter of the City of La Porto shall be
amended so as tom include Article 8p4, of Chapter 4, of Title 22, of
the Revised Civil Statutes of 1911; as amended by Senate bill 342,
of the general laws of the State of'Texas; enacted by the 33rd Legis
lature, which amendmentl adds thereto Articles 854-a, 854-b and
854-c.

Section Two: Said election shall be hell! on Saturday, tho 18th
day of December 1915; and in accordanco with the general election
laws of the State, as applied to Cities, and notices thereof shall
be given by the Mayor at least Thirty (30) days prior therato.
Section Three: The form of ballot for such election shall be
"~or the amendment to the Charter, conferring power on the City
)'Council to sell public squares and parks, and to sellar vacate
/ parts of streets and alleys within the limits of the City, as pro-
vided in Article 854, of Chapter 4, of Title 22, of the Revised
. Civil Statntes of 1911, as amended by Senate bill 34~, of the
General Laws of the State of Texas, enacted by the 33rd Legisla-
ture, which amendment adds thereto Articles 854-a, 854-b, ann
854-c." and Against the amendment to the Charter conferring power
on the City Council to sell public squares and parks, and to sell
or vacate parts of streets or alleys within the limits of tho City,
as provided in Articl~s 854, of Chapter 4, of Title 22, of the Re-
vised Civil Statutes of 1911, as amended by Senate bill 342, of the
General laws of the State of Texas, enacted 'by the 33rd ~egislature,
which amendment adds thereto Articles 854-a, 854-b, and 854-c."
Section Four: That there exists a public emergency and neces-
sity, reqUiring that this ordinance shall be passed finally on the
date of its introduction, and the Mayor having declared in writing
the existence of such an emergency, and requested such passage,
this Ordinance shall be passed finally on the date of its introduc-
tion, this 15th day of November 1915, and any rule requiring that
ordinances be laid over, or be read on three several days is hereby
suspended, and this Ordinance shall be in effect from and after its
passage and approval by the Mayor.
