<br />EE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of La porte,
<br />Texas, &S follows:

<br />That said Oity of La forte has employed Stan~ey Thompson,
<br />and R. M. Lov., attorneys of Houston, for the purpose of bringing
<br />'tax suits for the delinquent taxes of the past four years.

<br />That,as their compensation for bring said suits for taxes,
<br />the said City of La Porte, agrees to pay the said Stanley Thompron
<br />liLnd R. M. Love a fee of Four Dollars ($4.00) for each tax suit
<br />turned over to them for handling~ to be paid out of the general
<br />revenues of the City of La ~orte.

<br />The faot that the taxes have been due and payabl~ for a long
<br />time, and that no provision has been made for oollecting same by ,
<br />Buit, creates an emergency and an imperative necessity, which re-
<br />q,ulres that the constitutional rule, providing tha't bills be read. on
<br />three several days, be suspended, and the same 1s hereby suspended,
<br />and that' this act sha~l take effeot from and after its passage, and
<br />it is so ordained.
