'\ - ,e ----., " ' e ..............., e e REFERRING TO ORDnlANC~ NO 261 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the City of La Porte has heretofore passed and approved Ordinanoe No. 261, regulating traffic upon the publio streets of the City of La. porteJ and, WHEREAS, such Ordinanoe provides that the City Counoil shall, by resolution, dete~ine and designate the oharaoter of all offioial traffic signs and signals and shall designate the looation where the same shall be installed; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL THAT: the standing or parking of any vehio1e is prohibited within the spaoe, Twenty-Four (24) feet in width, on the north side of the street in front of and adjacent to the pro- perty on which is looated the"Port Theater", on \'Vest Main Street, between First and Second Streets, in the City of La Porte, Texas, and fUrther that the Police Committee is hereby authorized and instruoted to properly mark and sign said plaoe as a "no parking zone". Vehicle - Every device in, upon or by 'Which any person or property is or may be transported o~ dravm upon a public highway. Official Traffio Signals - All signals, not inconsistent wi.th this Ordi- nllnce, placsd or ereeted by the City Council, .for the purpose of directing, 'Warning or regule.:i:ii:n.g traffio. Crosswalk - That portion of II roadway ordinarily included ;;i thi.n the pro- l,ongation of' curb and property lines at intersections, or a:ny other port::'on of a r,)advray clearly indioated for pedestrian crossing by lines or other ~rldngs on the surface. Traffic - Pedestrians, ridden or herded animals, vehicles t,n.d. other con- vayances either singly or together while using any street for purposes of travel. Operator - ~ person who is in actual physical control of a vohicle. ART ICLE II Section 1. I't shall be the duty ot the Polioe Depar"bnent of this City to el~orce the provisiollS of this Ordinance.
