! AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE COMPENSATION OF THE MAYOR, THE ALDERMEN, THE
I CITY SECRETARY AND THE CITY :MARSHAL TO BE ELECTED IN APRIL, 1938J PROVIDING WHEN

l SUCH CWPENSATION SHALL BE PAID AND THAT SUCH COMPENSATION SHALL BE PAID OUT OF
THE GENERAL FUNDS OF THE CITYJ REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDDlANCES
IN OONFLI C1l' HERE\UTH AND DECLARING AN WERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, HARRIS
COUNTY, TEXAS.
Section 1. That the Mayor am Ex-Officio Recorder of the Corporation
court to be elected at the general election to be held in April, 1938 shall re-
ceive, as his oanpensation during his term of offioe, the Bum of Five Dollars
..e .. (tS.OO) tor each regular meeting of the City Council aM not to exceed two (2)
such meetings per month, and, in addition thereto, he shall receive the 8Wn ot
One Dollar ('1.00) tor each oase tried and finally disposed of before htm a8
judge of the Corporation court, except that, in oases or trattic ordinance or
law violations, he shall receive the sum ot Tvmnty-Five Cents (25;) in each such

, Corporation Court, he shall reoieve, as tees of offioe, the costs colleoted for
the City Marshal from eaoh Defendant oonvioted, and any other fees and/or ex-
penses as may be hereafter, trCll1 ttme to time, allowed by the City Council.
Seotion 5. That all oompensation provided for in thil Ordimnce shal

ot La Porte, on or atter the first day ot each month following that for whioh

Seo'tion 6. That all Ordinances and resolutions and parts of Ordinanoe
