BE IT ORDAiNED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE" TEXAS:
Seotion 1. There is hereby levied and shall be assessed and collected
tor the year 1941. on all the taxable property in the City ot La Porte, Tems,
on the 1st d~ ot January ot the year 1941, an ad 'Valorem tax ot. and at the
,rate ot, One and 50/100 Dollars ($1.50) on eaoh One Hundred Dollar ($lOO.oo). val

of Ia Porte, for the year 1941, for the purpose of paying the current interest
on, and to provide the nec:'ess&.ry siIlldng fund tor. the One Hundred Forty-Eight
housand Dollar ($148,000.00) "City at La Porte Retuming Boms" issued in the
ear 1936. and the same shall be assessed and oolleoted and appliod to the pur-
ose named.
(b) There is hereby levied a tax at

Seotion 2. The foregoing levies and assessments are based on the
valuation of all taxable property in the City of La. Porte, Texas, on January 1,
1941, 8l:l.ounting to the sum of One Million Four Hundred Eighty-Two Thousam Seven
:Hundred benth-Nine Dollars ($1,482,129.00).
Seotion 3. The fact that the best interest and general welfare
City require this tax levy for the year 1941 in order that it may meet its obli
