Sectlon 1. That the Mayor and Ex-Officio Recorder of thei

Section 7. That all Ordinances and resolutions and p.B.rts

conflict herewith, are hereby repealed by this Ordinance.

shall be allowed ten (10) working days vacation in each calendar
year, with compensation. The periods of such vacations shall be
fixed by the City Council.
That the compensations provided for by this Ordinance
shall not be paid either of such officersW'hen he is absent frOl'ft
his duties on account of illness, or any other cause, for more than
twenty (20) worldng days during any calendar year, provided that
such officer may apply his ten (lO) days vacation against any ab-

La Porte, Texas, has resigned from office and such office 1s now
vacant; and

appointed An~ie Christensen to such office for the unexpired term;

THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS: that the appointment, by the Mayor,
of Annie Christensen to the off1ce of City Secretary (Tax Assessor
and Collector and Treasurer) of the City of La Porte, Texas, to
fill the unexp1red portion of the present term, be, and the same
is hereby, confirmed, and that as such otficer she shall receive
the compensation provided by the Ordinance ot the said City, and
it is so ordered.

appointed H. W. Smith Chief of Police of the City of La Porte,
Texas, with all the duties and responsibilities ot a City Peace
Officer;
NOVl, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, that such appointment be, and it is
hereby, confirmed, and further that such officer shall hold such
office at t~e pleasure of the City Council and shall receive as
his compensation for his services such compensation as the City
Counc11 may from time to time direct.
