BE PAID A~D THAT SUCH COJ.'lPENS!\TION SHALL BE PAID OUT OF THE GENERAL FUNDS OF THE CITY; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HERE'tlITH AND DECLARING AH D1ERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS: Section 1. That the Mayor of the City of La Porte 'shal1 receive, as his compensation during his term of office, . . the sum of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) per month from and after the 15th day of April, 1947. Section 2. That the two Commissioners of the City of La Porte shall receive, as their compensation during their term of office, the sum of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) per month from and after the 15th day of April, 1947. Section 3. That all compensation provided in this Or- ' dinance shall be paid to the proper persons, by warrant drawn on the general .funds of the City of La Porte, on or after the first day of each montll .following that for which such compensation may be due, unless otherwise directed from time to time by the City Commission. . Section 4. That all Ordinances and resolutions and parts of Ordinances and/or resolutions heretofore passed, which are in conflict herewith, are hereby repealed by this Ordinance. Section 5. That if any section or part of a section, or one or more sections of this Ordinance be declared to be in- valid such shall not affect the validity of the remaining parts hereof. Section 6. That an emergency exists constitu~ing an imperative publiC necessity that the rule requiri~g Ordinances to be read at three several meetings be suspended and this Or- dinance take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval, and it is so ordained.
