I Section 1.

II ($1,200.00) per year, to be paid in monthly installments in the su~

perative public necessity that the rule requiring Ordinances to
be read at three several meetings be suspended and that this ordi-l
nance be passed finally on its first reading; and that this Ordi-
nance take effect and be in force from and after its passage and

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CIT
OF LA PORTE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the Mayor to be elected at the general
election to be held in April, 1948, shall receive as his compensa-
tion during his term of office, the sum of Twelve Hundred Dollars
{$1,200.00} per year, to be paid in monthly installments in the su
ot One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) each.
Section 2. That the two Commissioners to be elected
at the general election to be held in April, 1948, shall each re-
ceive as his compensation during his term of office, the sum ot
Six Hundred Dollars ($600.00) per year, to be paid in monthly in-
stallments in the sum of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) each.
Section 3. That all the co~pensation provided for in
this Ordinance shall be paid to the proper persons, by warrant
drawn on the general funds of the City of La Porte, on or after
the 1st day of each month following that for which such compensa-
tion may be due.
Section 4. That all Ordinances and resolutions and
