<br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
<br />LA PORTE, T:EXAS, THAT:
<br />
<br />Section 1. DEFINITION OF SANITARY SEVIER SYSTElll. The sani-
<br />tary sewer 3ystem of the C1ty of La Porte, Texas, consists of main
<br />and lateral conduits of concrete pipe or other similar pipe, with
<br />necessary aocessories, and are known herein as sanitary sewers~
<br />They are designed to carry off all liquid wastes. The severs in
<br />the alleys Jr streets adjacent to the various lots are called main
<br />or lateral 3ewers. The sewers leading from the main or lateral
<br />sewers to tde property on either side are called house sewers.

<br />Section 2. LICENS~ REQUIRED. Before any person shall do
<br />any work or make any connections with the sewer systemp or do any
<br />plumbing ~o:?k connected or intended to be connected with the se~er
<br />system, he shall be licensed as provided in Senate Bil3. Number l88l)
<br />fBThe Plumbing License Law of 1947", passed by the 50th Legislature;
<br />and no such plumbing work shall be done without a City permit be-
<br />ing issued 1;hereforo The term. "plumbing workB as refeI'red to in
<br />this Ordinance, shall be as defined in Senate Bill Number 188;

<br />Section 3. BOlID RE~UIRED. Before being issued a City per-
<br />mit to do any plumbing work, such person must file pith the gove~
<br />iog b-:>d}T of the City a bond in the sum of One Thousand Doll ars
<br />($1;000000)>> with good and sufficient sureties, to be approved by
<br />said goverp:i.ng body. 'l'he conditions of the bond are as follo'lPJs:
<br />That the applicant for the permit will obey all Ordinanoes regulat
<br />1ng plumbin~ ~ork; ~ill obey all Ordinances regulating oxcavations
<br />in or punctt~ing the streets, alleys or other public p~~perty; ~il
<br />refill said excavations or punctures according to sta.ndards estab-
<br />lished by tb,e City; will replace all pavements in as good conditio
<br />as same was prior to said excavation or puncture; will place light
<br />and guards around all plumbing materials or apparatus 13ft in any
<br />street, alley or other public uay; will place lights and guards
<br />around all Gxcavations or punctures; will repair all damages that
<br />arise in making connections with water and sewer mair.s or laterals.
<br />and will hold the City of La porte harmless from all damages that
<br />may accrue by reason of any plumbing work, or by reason of any ex=
<br />cavation or puncture made by said applicant.

<br />Sectio~ 4. (A) Any person, firm or corporation engaged in
<br />plumbing business desiring to construct or install any plumbing
<br />fixture or fixtures in any building or house in the corporate li=
<br />mite of the City of La Porte or outside the City limits TIhere the
<br />Ci~y of La ?~rte is takine care of the sewerage, or Go~nect any
<br />plumbing fix~ure ~r fixtures in any buildings or house that may
<br />have been di 9connected for any reason \7hatsoever, shgl1 obtai.n a
<br />permit from the Plumbing Inspector Defore said work can be install

<br />each additional plunbing fixture over twenty-five (25), on all
