CITY OF LA PORTE I
AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE RESUr.:r S OF THE ELECTION FOR CITY OFFICIALS, HEm
ON THE 25th DAY OF APRIL A.D. 1950, IN THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TElCAS, AND
COli4MISSIONING THE OFFICIALS ELECTED.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Commission of the City of La Porte, Texas,
that on the 4th day of May, A.D., 1950, oame on to be considered the returns
of the regular biennial election held on the 25th day of April, 1950, in the
City of La Porte, Harris County, Texas, for the purpose of electing a Mayor
aId two Commissioners,; it appearing to the Mayor and City Commissioners duly
e assembled for the purpose of considering such returns that the aforesaid elec-
tion was duly and regularly ordered by the Mayor and City Commissioners; that
said election was duly and regularly held in accordance with law and a d~
passed city ordinance ordering the same; that proper returns were duly and
regularly made to the Mayor and City Commissioners as provided by law; and
that at said election votes were cast by one hundred sixty two (162) qualified
voters in the following manner, to-wit:

William P. Jones
James S. Crate, Jr.
C.J. Wilson

IT IS THEREFORE OBDmPD by the Mayor and City Commission that Harold J.
Pfeiffer reoeived the greatest munber of votes for Mayor and is therefore
declared by the Commission to be Mayor of the City of La Porte, Texas;
IT IS THERWCRE FURTHER ORDERED by the Mayor and City Commission that
William P. Jones and James S. Crate, Jr. received the greatest number of votes
for Commissioners and are therefore declared elected to their respective offices
as Commissioners,;

IT IS FURTH~ CIU>ERED by the Mayor and City Commission that a conunission
be iSSl1ed this day to Harold J. Pfeiffer, Mayor, and certificates or election
be this day delivered to William P. Jones and James S. Crate, Jr., as Com-
missioners, such offioers having this date taken the oath of office as pre-
scribed by law am having furnished to the City of La Porte, Texas, the required
bond.
PASSED this 4th day of May, A.D., 1950, by a vote of three ayes and no
noes, approved by the Mahor and attested by the City Clerk on said date.
