OF LA. PORTE
TEEAS
v~{EREAS, certain territory located in the extreme northwest
corn,er of the City limits of the City of La Porte, Texas, and adjoining
the town of Deer Park, Texas, is now uninhabited and it is not presently
comptemplated by the City of La Porte to include such territory in a water
and sewerage improvement program;
WHEREAS, the town of Deer Park, Texa.s, is endeavoring to expand
its limits and is presently engaged in an improvement program in the vicin-
ity of said territory and can at this time economically and conveniently ex-
tend w~icipal facilities to such territor,y and thereby induce settlement by
those desirous of inhabiting said territory;
WHERBAS, The Mayor of the City of La Porte, Texas, has been re-
quested by the hiayor 'of the town of Deer Park, Texas, to relinquish such
territory and the former has made a written recommendation unto the Gom-
mission of the City of La Porte, Texas that such territor,y be relinquished
in accordance with the Laws of the State of Texas;

SECTIOi~ DUE: THAT, said territory, comprising an excess of ten
acres in area and more particularly described as hereinafter set forth, he
relinquished, and that the maps of the City of La Porte, Texas, on file in
the office of City Clerk showing the boundary limits of said City be amended
so as to show the true boundary of the Cit;}T after relinquishment of sllch,
to-wit:

Tfllir~cr; in a southerly direction 2,640 feet with the West line
of said Raglar..d Survey, stake for a corner;
THENCE in an easterl.y direction and parallel with the South Right-
of-way line of "XIt Street of said tOVin of Deer rark, Texas, to the East line
of outlot number 7i of said'town of Deer Park, Tex~s, stake for a corner;
THENCB in a northerly direction with the East bounda~ line of
the tOVln of Deer Park, Texas, as shown by said plat to the rrorth right-of-way
line of the Houston - La Porte Highway;
THENCE in a westerly direction lvith said North right-of-way line
to the Northeast corner of the Incorporated Town of Deer Park, Texas, as
shown ~ said Order of Incorporation;
SECTIO~q TWO: THAT, if any legal impedi~.ment exists preventing the
valid relinquishnent of any portion or portions of the ahove described ter-
ritory by the City of La Porte, then such portion or portions thereof is
hereby retained end the rem~ininz such portion or portions is hereby relin-
quished and boundary limits of said City of La Porte shall be amended ace or-
dinely .
SECTIon THR~: THAT, if any portion of this Ordinance shall be
held invalid, then, so much thereof as shall not be invalid shall be a.nd re-
main in full force and effect.
