, .AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION VI OF ORDINANCE NO. 404 AND REQUIRING
THAT HENCEFORTH ANY PERSON, COMPANY OR CORPORATION DESIRING TO MOVE
.ANY HOUSE FROM ITS EXISTING LOCATION TO A NEW LOCATION SHALL FIRST .
OBTAIN A PERMIT FROI~I THE CITY OF LA PORTE AND CONTINUING THE PENALTY
AS PROVIDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 404 OF NOT LESS THAN #50.00 NOR MORE
THAN $200.00 FOR ANY VIOLATION OF ORDINANCE NO. 404.
jffiEREAS. on the 19th day of October, 1950, Ordinance No.
404 was duly passed by the City Commission of the City of La Porte;
and;
WHEREAS. on the 1st day of March, 1951, Ordinance No.
404-A was passed by the City Commission of the City of La Porte
amending Section VI of Ordinance No. 404; and,
WHEREAS, on the 3rd day of July, 1953. Ordinance No.
404-B was passed by the City Commission of the City of La Porte
amend~bg Ordinance 404-A and Section VI of Ordinance No. 404; and,
WHEREAS. the City Commission of the City of La Porte is
desirous of amending Section VI of Ordinance No. 404; NOW, THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE:
Section VI of Ordinance No. 404 is hereby amended and
shall henceforth be read in its entirety as follows; to-wit:
"Any owner whether a person, company or corporation de-
siring to move any house (as def~ned in Section I of Ordinance No.
404) from its present location to a new location shall, prior to
beginning work, apply to the City Secretary of the City of La Porte
for a permit. The application for permit must be in affidavit form
and must show:

The present location of the house
Tbe proposed new looation
Tbe proposed route ot moving
The size and type of construction of the house
Tbe plans, specifications and profile of tbe
house in the new location as. proposed in its
completed state and the date of completion of
construction
The names and addresses of the owners of any
and all houses within 200 feet from any point
of the house in its proposed new looation.
The name and address of the owner
The name and address of the licensee who is to
move the house.

to-wit:
(1)
If tbe house does not exceed 400 square feet, a
permit fee of #10.00 sball be paid by tbe appli-
cant.
If the bouse exceeds 400 square feet, a permit
fee o~ $25.00 aball be paid by tbe applicant.
If tbe bouse exceeds one story, a permit fee as
provided in (1) and (2) sba1l be paid by the
applicant, and in addition tbe applicant sball
pay an extra 50% of said fee.
Tbe City Secretary shall examine tbe application and all required

information and, if it is in order, shall forward tbe application
and all supporting data to tbe Planning and Zoning Commission. Tbe
~, Planning and Zoning Commission sball within five days return tbe
'. ,application with its approval to the City Secretary. If tbe appli-
cation fails to meet the approval of the Planning and Zoning Commission,
tbe application shall be returned to the City Secre~ary, along witb
the reasons, in writing, why the Planning and Zoning Commission
failed to approve such application and tbeCity Secretary shall
fortbwith notify tbe applicant tbat no permit can be issued and of
the reasons given by the Planning and Zoning Commission. If approved,
the Mayor ot' bis autborized representative sball cause tbe permit
to be issued. Each permit sbal1 be issued in duplicate and one copy

(a) The name of tbe licensee.
(b) The present location of the house
(c) The proposed new location
(d) The route of moving, as approved by tbe City
official.
(e) The exact date and time during which the house
will occupy the streets and side walks and other
public rights-ot-way.
(f) The time that the house is allowed to remain in
the street.
(g) The size and type of construction of the house
and the proposed date of completion of construc-
tion in the new location.

(h) The receipt of tbe permit fee.
Tbe acceptance by said licensee of said permit shall
constitute a binding obligation and contract on'said licensee's
part to abide by and comply with the terms of said permits and
of tbis Ordinance.
Tbe maximum time during wbicb a bouse may legally remain
in the street, under a permit, shall be forty-eight (48) bours.
During t~'entire time tbat the bouse is occupying tbe
street, or any portion of same, tbe lioensee sball keep it continu-
ously in motion toward its destination and shall not allow tbe work
(:>f moving to stop during sucb time.
Any violation of this ordinance by any person, firm or
, private corporation shall upon oonviction, subject the offender
to a fine of not less tban $50.00 and not more tban $200.00, and
f:!acb day that suoh violation continues shall be fr.eated as a
separate offense.
All ordinances or portions tbereof beretofore passed by
tbe City wbioh are in confliot herewith are bereby declared repealed
to the extent of such oonfliot only.
This ordinanoe shall take effect immediately after the
days have elapsed after the first publication of the caption
ordinance after being passed and approved by the City Com-
mission of tbe City of La Porte.
