UEEREAS the La Porte Independent School nistrict b,y letter dated January
19, 1950, requested the City of La Porte to protect the boundaries of the I.a Porte
Ioo.ependent School District from other cities and other school districts by annex-
i:og additional territory to the City of La. Porte, and

SECTION ONe: That the said territory comprising an area in excess of ten

effective date of this ordinance said territory shall cea.se to be a. part of sa.id
City, and that the maps of the City of La. Porto, Texas, on fUe in the office of the
,Ci'ty Clerk, showing the boundary limits of said City, be amended so a.s to show tho
tr'le boundRrY of the City thereafter; tha.t the territory hersby relinqUished is
deacribed in two parts as follous, to-nit:
1. BroINNING at the intersection of the North right-of-way line of South
no" Street, Town of La Porte, Texas, with the l7est right-of-way line of the
G. H. and S. ,A. Bailroad, Harris County, Texas;

the boundary limits of said City of Lo. Porta shall be amended a.ccordingly.
SECTION 'l'HREE': The invaJ.idity of rxny section or provision of this ordinanca
hereby' adopted shall not invalidate other sections or provisions thereof.
