COUNTY OF HARRIS I The City Commission of the City of La porte, Texas, met in ;re,uJ~^- session at the regular meeting place within said City 7J. Muldoon Mayor Commissioner Commissioner City Clerk when the following business was transacted: ....-:....::" The Mayor introduced an ordinance calling a bond election. The ordinance was l"ead in full and Commissioner 11 j bt moved that it be adopted. The motion was seconded by Commissioner ;;1 A J:;' IS- and carried by the following vote: AYES: Mayor Burgin, Commissioners White and Rigby. NOES: None. The ordinance thus adopted follows: BE IT ORDAINED by the City Commission of the City of La Porte, Texas: Section 1: That an election shall be held in and throughout the ..I. Gity of La porte, Texas, on the 9 -day of .o.e- , 1952, at which election the following propositions shall be submitted to the duly qualified resident electors of said City who own tax'able property within said City and who have duly rendered the flame for taxation, for their action thereupon: PROPOSITION NO. ONE SHALL THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS BE AUTHORIZED TO ISSUE THE BONDS OF SAID CITY IN THE AMOUNT OF $200,000, MATURING SERIALLY WITHIN THIRTY (30) YEA:.~S FROM THEIR DATE OR DATES AND BEARING INTEREST AT A RATE NOT TO EXCEED FOUR (45$) PER CENT PEl{ ANNUM, FOR THE ACQUISITION OF A CAPITAL PROJECT, TO-WIT: CONSTRUCTING AND IMPROVING THE ROADS, BRIDGES AND STREETS OF SAID CITY AND TO LEVY TAXES ON ALL TAX.ABLE PROPERTY WITHIN SAID CITY SUFFICIENT TO PAY THE ANNUAL INTEREST ON SAID BONDS AND TO PROVIDE A SINKING FUND TO PAY THE PRINCIPAL THEREOF AT MATtfrlITY. / ,;;. . , ... Section 2: The City Commission finds that the probable period of usefulness of the street improvements is approximately thirty (30) years and the probable period of usefulness of the City Hall is approximately thirty (30) years. Section 3: That said election shall be held at the City Hall Building, in the City of La Porte, Texas, and the entire City shall constitute one election precinct.
