'_..'......,. e e . orolNAIa NO. ..!:J: If :5 AN ORDINAn::E DETE:RMINING THE' lE.CESSITY FUR lIJiPRD'VEMF:NT OF CERTAIN STREETS BY PAVING Al'i> DRAINAGE, PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION OF NOTICE: OF HEARING AND SETTING TIm AND PLACE THEIBOF. \'lI:m:REJ\S it is hereby determined that there is the necessity fer the improvement of certain streets or highways within the City of La Porte, Texas, by paving and providing the necessary drainage therefor, a list of which streets is attached hereto and made a part hereof, and Ii.HE:RE'AS the City of La Porte has caused an estimate ot the cost of such improvenents to be made by A. B'. Moore~Engineering Company, consulting engineers, of Pasadena, Texas" such estimate of costs being on file in the office of the City Clerk : NOW, THl!:BEFORE, BE IT ORDAINlID BY THE; CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA POR1E, ~..rXAS: Section 1. That a public hearing be held before the City Commission of the City of La Porte, Texas, on the second floor of the City Hall on the JL ~ of May, A. D. 1953, at 7.;JJ.fm. in connection with street improvemants herein referred to and in connection with assessmants on abutting property, in accordance with Section 8 of the Charter for the City of La Porte an,d Chapter 106, Fortieth ~gislature, First Call Session, Acts of 1927, as amended. Section 2. That publication of the notice of the hearing provided for in Section 1 above be made in the La Porte Liberal for three consecutive weeks, once each week, beginning on the~ay of .8..I..:f1u:., 195.3. Section 3. That the City A.ttorney, Edward J. Cade, be directed to write said notice of hearing tor publication, and inasmuch as the street paving program is not within the routine duties of the City Attorney, he, Edward J. Cade,shall be paid as additional compensation for his services in connection therewith the sum of Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250.00) forthwith for the overall street paving program, plus a. reasonable fee' for each assessment that is made against abutting property, or owners thereof, as each assessment is made. . ~ Passed am approved this J..2..: day of April, A.
