IN THE CITY 01<' LA P.oRTE, TEXAS, AND CO:.JUSSION- <br />I:m THE OFFICIALS EL/:CTED. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINE) by the City Commission of the City of La Porte, 'texas, that on <br /> <br />the 3rd day of May, A. D., 1954, came on to be considered the returns of the regular <br /> <br /> <br />biennia.l election held on the 27th day of April, 1954, i1'1 the City of La ~orte, <br /> <br />Harris County, texas, for the purpose of electing a Mayor and two Commigsioners; <br /> <br />it appearing to the ~~yor and Ci~ Commissioners duly assembled for the purpose of <br /> <br />considering such ret11rns that the aforesaid election was duly and regularly ordered <br /> <br />l:IY the Mayor and City Commissioners; that said election was duly and re~ularly held <br /> <br />in accordance with law and a duly passed city ordinance ordering the same; that <br /> <br />proper returns Vlere duly and regularly made to the .I!llayor and Ci~ Commissioners as <br /> <br />I~ovided by law; and that at said election votes were cast by seven hUndred and <br /> <br /> <br />1jhirty-seven (737) q,ualified voters in the following manner, to-wit: <br /> <br />:;'OR MAYOR: <br /> <br />Mercer D. R. <br /> <br />Rigby and H. p. Pfeiffer reoeivod the greatest number of votos for Commissioners and <br /> <br />are therefore deolared elected to their respeotive offices as Commissioners; <br />
