T:::IE 27th DAY OF APRIL A. D. 1954. IN THE CITY 01<' LA P.oRTE, TEXAS, AND CO:.JUSSION-

BE IT ORDAINE) by the City Commission of the City of La Porte, 'texas, that on
the 3rd day of May, A. D., 1954, came on to be considered the returns of the regular
biennia.l election held on the 27th day of April, 1954, i1'1 the City of La ~orte,
Harris County, texas, for the purpose of electing a Mayor and two Commigsioners;
it appearing to the ~~yor and Ci~ Commissioners duly assembled for the purpose of
considering such ret11rns that the aforesaid election was duly and regularly ordered
l:IY the Mayor and City Commissioners; that said election was duly and re~ularly held
in accordance with law and a duly passed city ordinance ordering the same; that
proper returns Vlere duly and regularly made to the .I!llayor and Ci~ Commissioners as
I~ovided by law; and that at said election votes were cast by seven hUndred and
1jhirty-seven (737) q,ualified voters in the following manner, to-wit:

IT IS THEREFOR1<; ORD1!:RE!) by the Mayor and Ci~ Commission thnt :,~ercer Do Burgin
received the greatsst number of votes for Mayor and is therefore declared by the
Commission to be Mayor of the City of La Porte, Texas;
IT IS TlIEREFORE FURTH'I!:R ORDERED by the Mayor a.nd City Commission that L. R.
Rigby and H. p. Pfeiffer reoeivod the greatest number of votos for Commissioners and
are therefore deolared elected to their respeotive offices as Commissioners;

be issued this day to Mercer D. Burgin, Mayor, and oertificates of election be
