mission of t.he: City of La Porte, Texas,. it sball be published in the official

newspaper as ~dopte~ by t~e said City Commission in the City of La Porte one
time and it s.811 pot t.he..,.eafter be .finally 'acted upon until at least thirty
(30) days havb elapsed after the' first notification thereof. Any citizen of th
City of La Potte~ or of t~e territory to be annex~dlshal1 have the right to
contest s;uch~nnexation by filing with the City Commission of the City of
La Porte 'a wr/itten petition setting out the rea,son for said contest1 and after

such citizen :or citizens .~hall have been given, an opportunity to be heardr this
