An Ordinance of the City of La Porte Prescribing
Rates and Charges for Local Exchange Telephone Service Furnished
by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.
LA PORTE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
Section 1: Southwestern Bell Telephone Company shall place
in effect the following schedule of rates for local exchange tele-
phone service on its first billing date after this ordinance becomes
effective in accordance with the Charter of the City:

(a) The rate for'a flat rate PBX trunk is one and one-
half times the rate for one party business flat rate
service.
(b) See Section 2.
Rates and charges for miscellaneous services and equip-
ment shall remain as heretofore established except as
superseded by those rates and charges contained in the
Schedule of Miscellaneous Rates and Charges attached
hereto and made a part hereof.

, Section 2: That authority to increase the charge for
Iocal'messages from coin box telephones to ten cents (lO~) per
message is hereby granted, to become effective when the Telephone
Company'completes equipment modifications necessary to the due
rendition of telephone service from such coin box telephones on
this basis. With the making effective of a charge of ten cents for
local messages from such coin box telephones, the rate to the sub-
scriber to semi-public coin box telephone service shall be eight
and three-quarters cents (8 3/4~) per message for calls over the
daily guarantee and ten cents (lO~) per message for calls under the
daily $uarantee, and the daily guarantee shall be twenty-two
cents (22~).

Section 3: Nothing in this ordinance contained shall be
construed now or hereafter as limiting or modifying, in any manner,
the right and power of the city under the law to regulate the rates
and charges of Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.
